Working from the perspective that digital games are a modern expressive art form, increasingly recognised as such, WIG 2007 has invited a focus on game aesthetics, performance and play in the context of 5 subject strands: the Performance of Play, Non-Games, Other Players, Situated Players and The Big Game.
These strands focus on what we believe are the major contemporary issues around modern game form. The event WIG 2007 intends to explore these strands to provide a rounded snapshot of thinking today, however it is our desire to extend the dialogue around these strands online in the hope of generating an ongoing discourse that serves the community at large.
